A stuffed wallet or purse is a thief's best friend, so be careful of how much money you take out at a time and don't flash your cash!

Only carry with you the cash you need for the day or night and always make sure you stay alert and cover your pin at cash points and in shops.

Keep an eye out for distractions around cash points too and don't let anybody or anything (even your mates!) interrupt you whilst using a cash point.

Keep your personal data personal, shred bank statements, receipts or anything with your name, address or personal information on. Do not leave anything lying around, keep it secure.

Finally, it may seem obvious but don't leave cash lying around at home or in the car as a temptation to passing thieves and don't keep cash in your room, put it in the bank!
